EVCity Partners with Indonesia’s Ministry of Defense and PLN to Power a Greener Future
Amid the global wave of energy transition, Indonesia is accelerating its stride into a new era of green mobility. On October 31, 2025, the electric vehicle (EV) charging station (SPKLU), jointly constructed by EVCity, Indonesia’s Ministry of Defense, and the State Electricity Company (PLN) with core technical support from EVCity, has been officially completed and put into operation.

The launch of this milestone project not only marks a substantial step forward in Indonesia’s new energy vehicle infrastructure but also highlights EVCity’s robust capabilities as a globally leading EV charging solutions provider in driving cross-border green energy cooperation.

A Powerful Alliance: From Planning to Rapid Implementation
This collaboration is a crucial component of the Indonesian government's strategy to accelerate its energy transition. Under the agreement, the three parties have taken the lead in building a high-standard public EV charging station within the Ministry of Defense's office area. Currently, the three dual-connector ultra-fast charging piles installed at the station are fully operational and open to the public.

Darmawan Prasodjo, President Director of PLN, highly praised the project's progress: “Our collaboration with the Ministry of Defense is a key initiative in driving the energy transition from the ‘internal combustion engine era’ to the ‘electrification era.’ This signifies not only a shift in transportation from high to low emissions but also a strategic upgrade from relying on imported energy to leveraging domestic clean energy.”
EVCity: Redefining Smart Charging with Hardcore Technology

As the core technical provider for this project, EVCity has grown into an intelligent EV charging solutions provider with full-stack R&D capabilities, backed by over 30 years of industry expertise and continuous innovation from its proprietary R&D team. Tailoring its offerings to Indonesia’s tropical climate and grid environment, EVCity deployed its flagship D6 Series Smart AC Charging Piles for this project, showcasing three core advantages:
1. Ultimate Flexibility with Dual-Connector Concurrent Charging and Power Configurations
Designed specifically for high-density commercial scenarios, the D6 Series supports simultaneous dual-connector output, covering three mainstream power specifications: 120kW, 160kW, 180kW, and 240kW, with a maximum output current of 250A. Whether for shopping mall parking or overnight charging in office areas, it effortlessly meets the concurrent charging needs of multiple vehicles, significantly boosting parking space turnover rates.
2. Military-Grade Environmental Adaptability and Safety Protection
Given Indonesia’s hot and humid tropical climate, the D6 Series demonstrates exceptional weather resistance. Featuring an IP55 protection rating and built-in multiple protection mechanisms (overcurrent, overvoltage, undervoltage, surge, and over-temperature), it ensures long-term stable operation in wide temperature ranges (-30°C to 50°C) and non-condensing humidity levels (<95%). Backed by international certifications such as CE and RoHS, it guarantees absolute safety for people, vehicles, and charging equipment in complex outdoor environments.
3. Smart Interconnectivity: Dynamic Load Balancing and OCPP Ecosystem
The D6 Series is more than just hardware; it is an integral part of the smart grid.
·Dynamic Load Balancing: Built-in smart algorithms automatically adjust output power based on real-time grid loads, preventing transformer overloads and ensuring electrical safety.
·Universal Backend Compatibility: Fully supporting the OCPP 1.6J/2.0 protocol, it seamlessly integrates with mainstream charging management platforms. Operators can achieve remote monitoring, precise billing, and fault diagnosis via the cloud, drastically reducing O&M costs.
·Convenient Interaction: Equipped with a 7-inch color touchscreen, it supports RFID card swiping, APP activation, and QR code payments, delivering a seamless charging experience for users.
Looking Ahead: From Pilot Projects to Widespread Adoption, Charting a Zero-Carbon Blueprint Together

Building on the successful operation of the Ministry of Defense charging station, EVCity plans to replicate and promote this mature model in high-traffic areas such as hospitals, shopping malls, office buildings, banks, and cafes over the next three years, in collaboration with PLN and local governments. This will gradually expand coverage to major cities including Jakarta, Surabaya, and Bali. Furthermore, the three parties will explore integrated “solar-storage-charging” smart microgrid solutions to further reduce operational costs and enhance energy self-sufficiency.
